nikki & louie's wedding

Ok, so here's the problem: I go to make a few teasers for each wedding to send out as soon as possible and to post here on the blog...at least that's my intention. What happens in reality is that I cannot stop. I find myself saying "ooh, I have to do that one...oh wait, just one more....oh, and THAT one!" Next thing I know it's 2am and I'm too wiped out to write a coherent sentence here...next thing I know, a week or two has gone by! I really must get a hold on myself and rampant editing.

Nikki & Louie presented such a case for me. I just wanted to keep going and going. Theirs was such a wonderful day, rain and all. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and while I try to remain a fly on the wall, I could not help but to feel included and involved, they are just that sweet. It took great discipline not to post 4 gig worth of images on here. Here are just a very few of my favorites from the day.

Nikki's dress was encrusted with all these aurora borealis beads and sparkies. Christa and I were, needless to say, mesmerized.

While Nikki's dress was being laced, she kept reminded me of someone. It wasn't until later that I realized it was a particular Da Vinci painting.
Here's Louie's mom seeing Nikki in her dress for the first time. She walked in, put her hands to her face and froze while she took it all in.

The thing I adore the most about Nikki & Louie is how much fun they have together. Their friends had no problems delivering the silliness, either.
The forecast called for storms, but nature gave everyone a break and the sun came out just as we went to the river for some wedding party photos.

Although the rain let up, the wind was having a hell of a party. As soon as we stepped out of the Renaissance to get on the bus, the wind yanked Nikki's veil clean off her head and attempted to steal it. Given the task of veil-keeper, Louie's groomsman took his job very seriously.
I took N&L off away from everyone so they could have a few moments of privacy. I don't have words for this one. It made both Christa and I all weepy-eyed on the way back to the hotel.

Nikki & Louie withstood 50 mile an hour winds on the hotel's pool deck to get this shot!
This was taken during their first dance. I love, love, LOVE these moments. Everyone is watching, and yet there are these little fragments of time where you can tell they are completely and utterly alone with each other.
Nikki & Louie, thanks so much for such a fantastic day! I'm sure I'll be posting some more shots from the wedding in the future... I just can't help myself.
